Supported Formats :

JPG , GIF , BMP , ICO , PBM, PGM , TGA , TIF , PPM, XPM, WBMP

JPG / JPEG : Widely used format of lossy compression for digital images, particularly for those images produced by digital photography. The degree of compression can be adjusted, allowing a selectable tradeoff between storage size and image quality. JPEG typically achieves 10:1 compression with little perceptible loss in image quality. The term “JPEG” is an abbreviation for the Joint Photographic Experts Group, which created the standard.

GIF :Graphics Interchange Format (GIF) is a standard image file format that was proposed by a group of engineers from various software companies, and sponsored by Compuserve, back in 1987.

BMP : The Microsoft Windows Bitmap (BMP) file format is one of several graphics file formats supported by the Microsoft Windows operating environment. BMP is the native bitmap format of Windows and is used to store virtually any type of bitmap data. Most graphics and imaging applications running under Microsoft Windows support the creation and display of BMP format files. BMP is also very popular in the MS-DOS operating system. It is also the native bitmap file format of OS/2.

PBM / PPM / PGM :The Portable Bitmap Utilities (PBM) is a collection of programs organized, maintained, and primarily written by Jef Poskanzer. Although owned and copyrighted by Mr. Poskanzer, they are freely available in both source and executable form on the Internet and on many BBS systems. The “bitmap” in PBM is used in the older sense to refer to monochrome images. There are actually three other sets of programs encompassed by the PBM utilities. These are the Portable Greymap Utilities (PGM), the Portable Pixmap Utilities (PPM), and the Portable Anymap Utilities (PNM). PBM programs manipulate monochrome bitmaps, and PGM and PPM programs manipulate gray-scale bitmaps and color bitmaps, respectively.

TGA : Truevision TGA, often referred to as TARGA, is a raster graphics file format created by Truevision Inc. (now part of Avid Technology). It was the native format of TARGA and VISTA boards, which were the first graphic cards for IBM-compatible PCs to support Highcolor/truecolor display. This family of graphic cards was intended for professional computer image synthesis and video editing with PCs; for this reason, usual resolutions of TGA image files match those of the NTSC and PAL video formats.

TIF /TIFF is a computer file format for storing raster graphics images, popular among graphic artists, the publishing industry, and photographers. The TIFF format is widely supported by image-manipulation applications, by publishing and page layout applications, and by scanning, faxing, word processing, optical character recognition and other applications.

XPM: X PixMap (XPM) is an image file format used by the X Window System, created in 1989 by Daniel Dardailler and Colas Nahaboo working at Bull Research Center at Sophia Antipolis, France, and later enhanced by Arnaud Le Hors.
It is intended primarily for creating icon pixmaps, and supports transparent pixels. Derived from the earlier XBM syntax, it is a plain text file in the XPM2 format or of a C programming language syntax, which can be included in a C program file.

WBMP : Wireless Application Protocol Bitmap Format (shortened to Wireless Bitmap and with file extension .wbmp) is a monochrome graphics file format optimized for mobile computing devices.
WBMP images are monochrome (black & white) so that the image size is kept to a minimum. A black pixel is denoted by 0 and a white pixel is denoted by 1.
For colored images, WAP supports the Portable Network Graphics format.

All Filters described below.

Blurring / Softening :

Blurring
Blurring

image

Antialias : Performs anti-aliasing on image. Antialiasing is typically used to smooth jagged lines/edges, but can be also used as gentle softening effect.

Blur : Blurs the image by amount from 1 to 100. Above illustration shows how affect image if  amount setting is 10.

Soften Less : Gently softens the image.

Soften More : Softens the  image.

Low Pass : Applies low-pass filter to loaded image.

Sharpening

This section includes tools for sharpening image .

Enhance Edge:  Detecting and enhancing edges in the image

High Pass : Applies high-pass filter to loaded image. There are 3 variants of filter .

Sharpen :  Sharpens loaded image.

Special Effects :

Add Noise : Adds random noise to image.

Melt:  By moving pixels vertically a distance depending on their intensity this method appears to melt loaded image.

Sepia : Applies sepia tint to loaded image.

Mosaic : Applies mosaic effect to loaded image.

Oil Painting : Modifies currently loaded image so that it resembles painting  due to applied strength.

Histogram Stretch : Enhances contrast of loaded image by stretching its histogram.

In general, the R, G, and B values of each pixel can range from 0 to 255. If the full range is not used (for example if values only range from 100 to 200) image contrast can be improved by ‘stretching’ the actual range over full allowed range of values. If your image already covers full range of R, G, and B values this method will not produce any changes can recognize by eye. Also, be aware that stretching histogram of color images can produce undesired color shifts. Stretching histogram usually works best for low contrast grayscale images.

Borders

Erode Border

Erodes border of loaded image.

Fade Border

Gradually fades edges of loaded image into solid color .

Border size determines the width and height of transition area .

Frame

Draws frame of thickness of adjustable size  around loaded image.

Frame is filled with linear gradient.

Outer and inner colors are specified by RGB parameters (range 0..255).

Irregular Border

Draws random, irregular border around loaded image.
Color and random seed could be changed.

Color reduction

Black and White

Converts loaded image to black and white.

Value of threshold (range 0..255, neutral value 127) determines overall brightness of image. If intensity of pixel is below threshold it is regarded as black, if above it is regarded as white.

Grayscale

Converts loaded image to grayscale.

Posterize

Adds the gray background to image.

Embossing

Color Emboss

Applies color embossing filter to loaded image in specified one of 8 directions.
